Funky Bonz have been touring the southwest and opening for great national bands since 1992. They have played with Fishbone, Weapon Of Choice, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Dread Zeppelin, Ozomatli and many more. They blend rock, funk, reggae, ska, and many other genres in their songwriting, creating a diverse but easily accessible sound. On the bands new EP release for Expat records, the formula has been improved by the addition of former Funky Bonz trumpet and trombone players Dante and Tony Rosano. The brothers are joined by dual saxophonists T.K. and James "Zinny" Ball, making for the biggest horn section in the bands recorded history. Keeping the rhythm and beat on the new E.P. are bassist Fernie "Snoop" Lopez and drummer Mike "Heff" Hoefnner. Doug "Hurricane" Floyd makes this release ROCK with his amazing grooves and blistering solos. Front-man Brent Kort does a good job of sounding at home in any genre his expertly handpicked players throw at him and the lyrics are clever and thought provoking. The E.P. starts with the title track "Prince Charming”, which begins as a funky disco tune with falsetto vocals then suddenly morphs into a rap rock song before finally ending with a straight up heavy metal rock and roll guitar solo.  "Make it Funky" is next and with their tight horn and rhythm section it’s no wonder why they have been earning a plethora of nominations and more than a few awards in Tucson as one of the cities top funk bands. The ska song "You Don't Know Jack" is a fun romp with a smooth sax solo courtesy of  "Zinny" and the groovy "Come A Long Way" is a great way to end the E.P. - with yet another amazing solo from the "Hurricane".
